Titled “Infinite Voyage,” the exhibition presents Shao’s faith in not only the gods but also in his affection for the land of Alian District in Kaohsiung City, his hometown. This, again, echoes his connections to the land, plants, farming, and nature in a spiritual way, as to achieve the unity of Heaven (gods), Environment (homeland), and People (agents of artistic practice). The idea that “destiny forges one’s nature, which naturally leads to the way things are,” a Confucian idea, points out that people should follow the way of Heaven, based on which they perfect their moral practices.

In the wake of the research and discussion on Shozo Shimamoto: Across The Borderlands of Art, In the Volcano: Cai Guo-Qiang and Pompeii was conducted with extended discussions in the form of online exhibition halls at ALIEN Art Centre. Complying with the artist’pursuit of social, moral, and aesthetic goals, the project attempts to aggregate the various fragments of the development of "destructive art" together, so that the audience might have a conceptual image of the attempted size and scale by the artist. The purpose is to show how the new style emerges from this aesthetic declaration through the discussion of this event.

In the 17th Century, Isaac Newton discovered that prism could divide lights into different colors due to dispersion effect. Based on RGB color model, this exhibition adds shades and wavelength on top of spatial and historical axes. Artists Luo Yijun, Gao Yating and Tang Yawen respond to history and southern images of the venue. The exhibition functions like a prism in the architecture. Artists put historical trade incidents, contexts and unseen personal moments into their works, and transform into new colors and perspectives.
